Two families. One shared dream.
A love for music — and a desire to bring something meaningful and lasting to our community.

We founded Sanhorn Music Education because we saw something missing.

One of us had spent over twenty years building and leading a music institution in China, specializing in percussion and orchestra education. The other had years of experience running successful educational programs here in the U.S. When our families came together, we discovered a shared vision — to bring the joy of percussion to more children and families.

In our local Asian-American communities, percussion—especially keyboard percussion like marimba—was rarely taught, even though it plays such a vital role in American school ensembles and opens doors to unique musical and developmental opportunities.

At the same time, we understood what many parents feel today.
Children are under pressure — school, competition, expectations. Many don’t connect with traditional instruments like piano or violin. Parents want something that brings real joy, collaboration, and confidence, not more stress.

Through years of teaching and performing, we’ve seen how ensemble percussion transforms children. When they play together, they learn to listen, support, and lead. They build friendships, confidence, and emotional balance. Families tell us how their children have become more focused, joyful, and resilient — freed from the kind of anxiety and restlessness that too often follows kids today.

That’s why we built Sanhorn — not just a place to learn music, but a community where children grow through teamwork, rhythm, and shared success.
